Terms of use
Last updated: September 25, 2026
These terms govern the use of Lyra, a PDF study platform that brings together a reader, an AI tutor, notes and spaced review. By creating an account, you agree to what is written here.
Lyra is operated by Menezes Apps. The official contact channel is suporte@lyrapdf.com.br.
1. Account
To use Lyra you must sign in with a supported identity provider, such as Google. You are responsible for the security of that account and for all activity carried out in it. The service is intended for people aged 18 or over; minors should only use it with the consent and supervision of their legal guardians.
2. Material you upload
Lyra stores the PDF files you import, together with the notes, flashcards and study history you create from them.
You are solely responsible for the material you upload and declare that you have the right to use it. Do not upload copyrighted works without the rights holder’s permission, or material whose possession or distribution is illegal. Uploading content that infringes third-party rights is grounds for removing the file and closing the account.
The material remains yours. You grant Lyra only the license needed to provide the service: storing the file, showing it to you, and processing the passages you select. Nothing you upload is used to train models, shared with other users or shown publicly.
3. How the AI tutor works
When you ask the Tutor a question or generate flashcards, the selected passage — text or image of the region you marked — is sent to Anthropic, the company that operates the language model used by Lyra, so the answer can be generated. The whole file is not sent: only the passage and the conversation context.
AI-generated answers may contain errors. They are study aids and do not constitute professional advice of any kind. Check relevant information against the original source before acting on it.
4. Usage limits
Using Lyra is free and subject to monthly limits on Tutor calls and on the flashcard generator. When you reach the limit, the AI features are unavailable until the period renews; reading, notes and review keep working normally. Limits may be adjusted at any time according to the cost of operation.
5. Prohibited conduct
- Trying to get around usage limits, authentication or any technical control of the service.
- Using Lyra to produce illegal or defamatory content, or content that infringes third-party rights.
- Automating access to the service, reselling it or using it as infrastructure for another product.
- Uploading files with malicious code or trying to compromise the platform’s security.
6. Content removal and termination
If you hold rights over material hosted on Lyra without authorization, write to suporte@lyrapdf.com.br identifying the work and the material in question. Legitimate requests are handled by removing the content.
You can close your account whenever you want, which deletes your data as described in the Privacy Policy. Lyra may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms.
7. Availability and liability
Lyra is provided as is, with no guarantee of uninterrupted availability or freedom from faults. Keep your own copy of files you consider important.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, liability arising from use of the service is limited to proven direct damages. Nothing here removes rights that consumer protection law guarantees you.
8. Changes
These terms may be updated. Relevant changes will be communicated by email or inside the service before they take effect. Continuing to use Lyra after the change means you accept it.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil.
